Grundfos
In September of 2006 ICDK arranged a fact-finding mission in Silicon Valley for Grundfos.
Grundfos is connected to and works with a number of universities and knowledge centers around the world. The last couple of years focus has been on developing a network in China and India. It is important for a global high-tech company like Grundfos to also have a solid network in Silicon Valley, where a number of the world's leading research institutions are located. Silicon Valley has a unique dynamic culture, that welcomes innovative, knowledge intensive and out-going companies from all over the world - Denmark included. You do not get measured by the size of the company, but rather by your ability to contribute unique knowledge and to add value, which is why we were received well wherever we went.
It was a prerequisite for the successful mission to Silicon Valley that Innovation Center Denmark had developed an exquisite, on target program with high-level contacts that met us with warmth and true interest. ICDK had planned everything to the smallest detail, allowing us to take full advantage of our days in Silicon Valley. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Thanks to Innovation Center Denmark
On the behalf of Wannakey A/S, I am pleased to thank Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley for a fantastic job, preparing and embracing, a full weeks introduction for us in the Bay Area in August 2006.
Starting out Monday with a Review Board where seven local business people were present. This was a fantastic opportunity to test our business plan, pitch our product, in a forum with people representing different areas and interests. The feedback was very useful and has been one of the cornerstones in adjusting our business plan and going to market strategy.
I can recommend anyone to use this great opportunity, to test a business plan before introducing a new product to the market.
The rest of the week was a combination of targeted meetings and networking events. The result was, by the end of the week, a lot of interesting contacts to work with.
Now one month later we have committed contacts that are interested in developing our product to fit other categories and working with us in the US.
It is amazing what difference one week makes when you work together with the right people. Once again thanks to Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley.

Thanks again to Innovation Center Denmark for an outstanding job during our visit in June 2007.
Since our last visit in January 2007 we now have our virtual office in place at Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley, with address and phone number. I am sure that our US address at one of the best locations in Silicon Valley have invoked positive interest from potential partners in the US.
And like last time I am pleased to thank Innovation Center Denmark Silicon Valley for another fantastic job, not only preparing high level meetings for us in the Bay Area, but more importantly helping us innovate our business model to fit the lucrative web 2.0 market and helping us understand the special and fast moving business environment in Silicon Valley.
This time we have not only established contact to potential partners - we also signed the first NDA, and made steps to hiring a person to put feet on the street in Silicon Valley.

Alphalyse
Since September 2006 Alphalyse has been a Virtual Office client at Innovation Center Denmark. However our interpretation of Virtual Office goes way beyond just an address and a phone number. Local presence is a must in our business and that is exactly what Innovation Center Denmark provides us.
Instead of setting up an expensive cost center in the US at this very early stage we have been able to keep our US operations costs at a minimum by engaging employees from Innovation Center Denmark. They have helped us by handling logistics involved in our innovative "Pick - n - Post" business model, which was specifically developed for the North American market. Innovation Center Denmark is an integrated part of this business model allowing us to have a seamless customer interface with ordering and shipment of protein analysis kits and samples, customer service during US office hours and representing Alphalyse at local industry events.
When we reach a preset milestone we will transition from the virtual model and build a local organization. Until we reach this level of predetermined turnover we have the freedom to be present on this important market with a very cost efficient model.

Atomistix is a true BornGlobal company. In 2005 the company established a base in Singapore and as soon as ICDK opened in June 2006, Atomistix was the first company to take advantage of the Silicon Valley Platform. "The office at Innovation Center Denmark allowed us to have a slow, controlled start up with lots of support and back-up from the Center," says Klaus Melchior, CFO Atomistix. "We have been very satisfied with the support we got from ICDK - and have utilized the large network that ICDK has created.
